Plum red with a strawberry hue. Fresh and vibrant aromas of strawberries and spice with a smattering of mountain herbs creates intrigue from the get-go. There is a succulence to the aromas, indicating perfectly picked pinot noir fruit. Hints of blueberries and delicately interwoven five-spice are also present, together with wet tree-fern aromas that transport the consumer straight to the Upper Yarra. On the palate, a lip-smacking burst of strawberries and raspberries are delivered on a glossy and lacey frame. It’s the shiny side of a red kookaburra cricket ball – polished. There is just enough presence to the tannins, which are ever so fine and fan-out on the palate as the gentle line of acidity carries the wine to great depth. Classic cool climate pinot noir from the Yarra Valley.
