Oakridge is a family-owned winery, cellar door and restaurant, located in the heart of Victoria’s oldest wine region – the Yarra Valley.
Established in 1978, Oakridge has grown to become an internationally recognised producer of award-winning wines and must-visit Yarra Valley destination.
As a pioneer of the wine growing region of the upper Yarra Valley, Oakridge is known for producing distinctive single-vineyard wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
Today, Oakridge is still a family owned company, supported by the Atlas/D’Aloisio family since 2007. Chief Winemaker, David Bicknell has led the winemaking team since 2002.
Leading the Oakridge kitchen team is Executive Chef Aaron Brodie, whose love of cooking was fostered over hours spent in his grandmother’s kitchen. Aaron’s exceptional culinary skills were later honed working in some of the world’s most renowned kitchens, including tenures at Gordon Ramsay’s multi-award-winning Maze restaurant and the two Michelin starred Pied à Terre. Joining the Oakridge kitchen team as Head Chef in 2017, his hyper-local approach to cooking and appreciation of the Yarra Valley are celebrated in his relationships with the region’s many producers. Aaron’s appointment as Executive Chef in September 2020, promises an exciting evolution for Oakridge restaurant.
Having joined the team in August 2019, Matthew brings to Oakridge extensive global drinks industry experience.
Matthew says “I am honoured to join such a warm and talented team at Oakridge. With such superb wines created under the careful eye of chief winemaker David Bicknell; a wonderful cellar door and one of the best and most sustainable restaurants in the country, I’m in very good company.”
