Fruit-laden aromas with raspberry, strawberry and red cherries with notes of pomegranate and a hint of spice.
On the palate it is juicy, textural and expansive; sweet red fruit – red currants and cherries, spice, rhubarb and rosemary. These characters are all drawn together with a refreshing cranberry-like acidity.
Sourced from the Willowlake vineyard in Gladysdale in the upper Yarra Valley. Handpicked and de-stemmed for 100% whole berry fermentation on skins for 3 weeks prior to pressing to old French oak puncheons for maturation.
Vintage 2020: A cool, long vintage with abundant rainfall and very low cropping levels has resulted in wines of great purity and high natural acidity.
