Pale straw with a green hue
Aromas are strongly varietal, citrus notes of lime and grapefruit, with lemon butter and gooseberry. Flecks of gun flint reduction add complexity.
The palate has depth, weight and texture, a generous core of fruit is framed by a bright citrus acid line. Barrel fermentation and time on lees provides a creamy texture and complexity.
A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – handpicking and whole bunch pressing directly to 500 litre French oak puncheons for a natural fermentation and a 10 month maturation on lees.
This wine was sourced from the north-facing Willowlake Vineyard, sited in the red volcanic soils of Gladysdale
