As a family-owned and operated business, Oakridge Wines revels in its team approach. From the director to the cellar door, the winemaking team to back-of-house, the kitchen to the restaurant, each person is a valued member of the Oakridge family. DAVID BICKNELL, Chief Winemaker

With precision, innovation and decades of experience, it is David Bicknell’s innate understanding of grape and terroir that result in outstanding Oakridge wines year after year. With an approach to wine-making that incorporates everything from the soil type from which the vines are grown to the type of music that is played during vinification, David successfully amplifies site whilst seamlessly constructing the balance, elegance and freshness that define Oakridge wines.

DANNY KANE, General Manager

Raised in South Australia’s Barossa Valley, Danny has long had wine running in his veins. With endless energy, dedication, passion and commitment, Danny has been a driving force behind Oakridge Wines’ unforgettable food and wine experiences.

MATT STONE, Co-Executive Chef

Co-Executive Chef and author, Matt Stone, leads the Oakridge kitchen alongside Jo Barrett with their sustainable dining philosophies. His menus consist of truly modern, intelligent and innovative foods that reflect quality Victorian produce and his own “slow food” philosophies – with much of the produce showcased on the menu foraged locally or grown in the Oakridge kitchen garden. You will most likely find him at the stove, at the end of a shovel or experimenting with new ways of pickling and preserving that add intricate elements to his notable dishes.


JO BARRETT, Co-Executive Chef

With a background in bread and pastry from Tivoli Road, and kitchen experience from Movida and Long Short Café, Jo Barrett leads the Oakridge Kitchen as Co-Executive Chef. Uplifting the simple yet satisfying pre-meal bread and butter experience with fresh flour milled daily at the winery, Barrett is fascinated with sustainability and enjoys the creativity and connectedness that comes with working closely with a seasonal kitchen garden.


TIM PERRIN, Winemaker

Entering the wine industry in 2003, Oakridge Winemaker Tim Perrin has celebrated many achievements throughout his career including nomination for Young Winemaker of the Year in 2011 and named dux of the Advanced Wine Assessment Course (AWAC) 36 in 2016. Tim’s abundant knowledge and understanding of the relationship between terroir and wine comes from experience working in many different climates including Coonawarra and California, as well as five years experience as a wine show judge. Tim’s career with Oakridge began at the harvest of the 2016 vintage.

MATT METCALFE, Cellar Door Manager

Originally from Sunbury, Melbourne, Matt’s passion for wine kicked off in the UK 14 years ago. Matt’s enthusiasm for all things wine related, brings a whole new dimension to the cellar door tasting experience. He thrives on his interactions with guests whilst serving world-class Oakridge wines. His favourite part of the day? Sharing stories and ideas across the cellar door tasting bar! Matt says he loves wine because it brings people together, it can be enhanced with the right food and it’s ability to develop and change with time.


TONY D'ALOISIO, Director

An established businessman and lawyer, Oakridge Wines Director Tony D’Aloisio stepped into the corporate world as a barrister in 1973. Tony’s recent positions include Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Managing Director and CEO of the Australian Securities Exchange (2004 to 2006) and Chief Executive of Mallesons Stephen Jaques (1992 to 2004).  He is a lawyer by background with many years’ experience in corporate law, competition law and taxation and is the immediate past President of the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia.


ILANA ATLAS, Director

Ilana Atlas, a director of Oakridge Wines since 2007, has extensive experience in business, holding executive and non-executive positions in a selection of Australia’s most well-known companies. Atlas is a corporate lawyer, and was a partner of Mallesons Stephen Jacques prior to a decade long position at Westpac. A senior executive in the company between 2003 and 2010, with accountabilities across human resources and corporate affairs, she was the driving force behind Westpac’s approach to corporate responsibility and sustainability. Journeying for new encounters, Atlas joined the board of Coca-Cola Amatil in 2011 before sharing her extensive knowledge even further as a board member for the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group and non-executive director of Westfield Holdings Limited. Up until the end of 2016, she was also Chairman of Bell Shakespeare Company.
