As a self-described “hospo lifer”, Drew has devoted his career to making sincere connections with diners. With a CV that spans three continents and a range of diverse and impressive establishments, Drew’s respect for humility and genuine warmth in service has finally found a natural home as Restaurant Manager at Oakridge in the Yarra Valley.
Swedish by birth, Drew spent his formative years between Australia and Sweden before travelling and working in the USA, Fiji and the Maldives. A true traveller, his diverse experience has seen him grow from a busboy in Seattle to studying hotel management in Switzerland. The one constant in his nomadic life was always his commitment to a professional career in hospitality.
In 2013, Drew settled permanently in Australia working alongside Aaron Turner at Loam and subsequently IGNI. Now making his home in the Yarra Valley, Drew brings a wealth of experience and talent to the award-winning culinary team at Oakridge. Together with chefs Matt Stone and Jo Barrett, Drew invites guests into the Oakridge world, underscoring the restaurant and winery’s ambition of nourishing the soil, the local community and the relationship with guests.
