Oakridge is taking part in the Dollar Dine program throughout the month of June to raise funds for OzHarvest and help reduce food waste and fight hunger.
OzHarvest are Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, collecting quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivering it directly to more than 1000 charities supporting people in need across the country.
The Dollar Dine program is a partnership whereby restaurants add $1 onto each bill they process for a one month period. This cost is then passed on to the dining party, and is accompanied by a billfold provided by OzHarvest that explains why this extra $1 has been added to the bill. The $1 is optional, and if a diner asks, it can be removed from the bill.
