The 2008 Oakridge Pinot Noir Wins Major Trophy!

The 2008 Oakridge Pinot Noir was awarded the Trophy for the Best 2008 Pinot Noir of Show at the 2009 International Cool Climate Wine Show. The Red Hill Agricultural and Horticultural Society’s ‘Cool Climate Wine Show’ was established in 2000 to raise the profile of high quality cool climate wines. Entries have increased from 373 in the first show to 630 in 2008, drawn mainly from the Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley, Tasmania and New Zealand, with a small but growing number of entries from the Northern Hemisphere. Some of the most prominent judges in the wine industry have chaired the wine show: James Halliday, Brian Croser, Peter Dawson, Gary Baldwin and from last year Mike DeGaris. The 2009 event saw Tasmania’s favourite son Andrew Hood make a welcome comeback to our judging line-up, along with former New Zealand now Australian whiz Corey Ryan.
